Blended & Flexible Workplace Training Solutions:
I design and deliver flexible and blended learning programmes that build foundational workplace skills. These solutions combine self-paced online modules, live virtual sessions, and in-person workshops to support a range of learning styles and organisational needs.
Programmes have included training in essential digital skills, workplace communication, customer service, professional conduct, health and safety awareness, and employability support.
Designed for diverse learners and workplace settings, these solutions are ideal for onboarding, upskilling, and preparing individuals for career progression or re-entry into employment.
Blended Learning: Smart Start Induction Programme
Sector: Charity-Homelessness
Role in this project: Project manager and instructional designer
-
During my tenure as the Learning and Development Advisor from 2012-2018, St Mungo, one of the largest homelessness charities, faced challenges with regular induction programmes due to the schedules and needs of new starters, leading to a significant drop in attendance.
-
The Solution
To address this, I conducted a Learning Needs Analysis, which informed the development of a blended learning induction programme.
Following the learning needs analysis, I designed and implemented a new programme.
This programme combined local orientation, e-learning modules, and in-person workshops, offering an engaging and flexible learning experience.
I worked with an external e-learning called Little Man Project, who provided their expertise and the development of all digital modules of the programme.
The new strategy resulted in 75% of new starters completing the modules within three months, with high user satisfaction and improved manager involvement.
The success of this programme is driving further development of blended learning initiatives, enhancing St Mungo's commitment to effective staff development.

In my previous role as the Learning Content Manager at Connectr.
I designed and developed the Aon Work Experience Programme. Aon, a global insurance company, launched a Work Experience (WEX) programme to support talent from lower socio-economic backgrounds.
This programme, which will run from 2023 to 2025, employs a blended learning approach.
The pilot programme consisted of both a five-day virtual programme, hybrid programme( in-person sessions and virtual) and online modules, benefiting 150 students in Years 12-13.
The subsequent programme redesign has adopted three-day in-person sessions and online modules.
The programme includes speed networking, webinars, guest speakers, online modules, group tasks and online mentoring to enhance employability skills.
I also created quality training materials and workbooks for both the students and facilitators (volunteer employees).
The pilot programme was a resounding success, attracting over 80 students and supported by 100 volunteer employees.
An impressive 90% of participants are now considering a career in financial services, and 93% envision themselves in a company like Aon.
Connectr and Aon are committed to continuously improving the work experience programme.
This dedication has led to enhancing and optimising their learning content, ensuring the programme's quality and effectiveness.
The current delivery mode and format in 2024 is a three-day in-person learning experience complemented by online modules on the Connect platform.

In 2020, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), in collaboration with Crown Agents, launched the "Know How to…in a Crisis" digital training programme to support businesses in managing the impacts of the Coronavirus pandemic.
As the Learning and Programme Manager, I was pivotal in the implementation of a bespoke digital learning platform and provided internal instructional design for six e-learning modules tailored to the needs of small businesses.
The programme supported over 22,000 businesses across 30 economies, fostering sustainable economic growth for micro and small enterprises.

The Coronavirus pandemic triggered widespread business disruption across global economies. As part of its multi-million-euro emergency response, the EBRD partnered with Crown Agents to design and deliver the "Know How to…in a Crisis" initiative—a high-profile digital training programme aimed at crisis resilience.
Solution and Implementation
In my role at Crown Agents, I implemented and configured a customised learning platform to host and deploy all digital learning content. This included e-learning modules, video webinars, downloadable resources, checklists, and toolkits.
The modules were developed to provide practical, accessible support to micro and small business owners and their teams, equipping them with strategies to manage and recover from the pandemic’s challenges and later, to adapt to broader business resilience themes.
As the internal LMS and digital programme manager, I collaborated with internal, external stakeholders and Little Man Project (an external e-learnign provider) to develop the programme’s 10 modules in six languages.-English, Russian, Ukranian, Arabic, French and Turkish.
Following the initial success, I also contributed to the development of four additional training modules focused on long-term business enhancement beyond the immediate COVID-19 crisis.
Outcomes
This free-to-access programme reached over 22,000 businesses in the 30 economies and six langauages where the EBRD operates. Delivered in seven languages, the project’s multilingual nature added a layer of logistical complexity that was successfully managed.
Participant feedback highlighted the programme’s effectiveness in helping businesses not only to survive the pandemic but also to build the foundations for long-term, sustainable growth.

Peer Education Community Programme
Case study
Sector: Health and Social Care
-
From 2003 to 2006, I worked at the Crescent, where we successfully implemented a Peer Education programme that significantly supported the sexual health needs of African communities in Hertfordshire over three years.
The goal was not only to increase awareness and understanding of safer sexual health practices in these communities but to do so effectively through Peer Educators.
-
I was responsible for recruiting and training several Peer Educators. My role was instrumental in providing them with the necessary resources and guidance to influence the sexual health behaviour of their peers.
The evaluation of the programme aimed to identify the short and intermediate-term benefits, with the hope that this would lay the groundwork for more in-depth impact studies in the future.
The programme achieved several key outcomes:
• Twenty-one Peer Educators completed the course, gaining a solid understanding of HIV and related issues.
• The educators developed the skills necessary to engage with their peers in appropriate contexts confidently.
• Ongoing support was provided to the Peer Educators through open access to The Crescent.
• The Peer Educators helped raise awareness about HIV in Hertfordshire through outreach and other health interventions.
The Peer Education programme demonstrated the effectiveness of several methodologies:
• An adult learning and low literacy teaching approach
• Short, focused training sessions instead of full-day courses
• Peer support for conducting education in sexual health settings
The programme evaluation indicated an increase in HIV and sexual health knowledge, safer sex practices, and interpersonal skills among Peer Educators. They reported high satisfaction levels with the training content, structure, and personnel. Additionally, The Crescent gained valuable insights into selection criteria, incentive systems, and supervision structures.
This peer education model proved effective and should be further developed to expand its potential benefits in Hertfordshire.
